Mansion House Residential Home is situated on the southern side of the Dengie Peninsula. It is in close proximity to such historic towns as Maldon, Burnham-on-Crouch and Chelmsford as well as other towns such as South Woodham Ferrers, Wickford and Basildon.

The history of the Dengie Peninsula can be traced back an extremely long way and had quite a strong wartime presence during the forties with numerous Pillbox forts being situated in the area and a disused airfield is situated by the now disused Magnox Power Station at Bradwell Bay. Various small wartime vessels such as Gunboats were built at various locations around the peninsula such as Cardinals Yard in Maylandsea.

The residents of the Dengie Peninsula are generally friendly and easy going. Numerous facilities are on offer in the local area such as Cinemas, Swimming Pools, Restaurants and Pubs as well as a various small Museums such as Mangapps Railway Museum at Burnham-on-Crouch.
